Members of the Serteens Club of Hawaii are select
students whose
scores on nationally recognized standardized tests are 98% or higher.
They are leaders in the classroom and in their community. Through their
extracurricular community service projects, Serteens give themselves an
extra edge when applying for scholarships and college admissions.
Serteen members also benefit from contacts through the Serteen Alumni
network.
These are not the only benefits however. In the
Serteen Program,
members build lasting friendships with other gifted and talented
students from different schools. Serteens also gain valuable leadership
and life skills while serving mankind.
In order to join, an applicant must:

Meet the following requirements which include:
-Top Two Percent- You need to score a 98% or
better on a Nationally Recognized Test (SAT, ACT, etc.)
-130
IQ+- If you have either a) Not Taken a Nationally Recognized Test, or
b) Did not do your best on the test, and you still want to be a
Serteen, you must provide documentation of an IQ of 130 or higher.

Acquire one recommendation from a teacher or
counselor
-
Write one, one page essay that focuses upon
the definition of gifted and talented and what it means to be
considered as such.
- Contact an Advisor to schedule an interview
time.
There is also an informational meeting open to
those who would like
to learn more about the club and the membership application process.

Serteens
will conduct our annual recruiting drive from March - May 2009.
Serteens do recruit year-round. If you are interested in
